Are You Experienced? Have You Ever Been Experienced?

September 3rd, 2008

Clearly, I was completely wrong about the Palin pick. I guess that means my political savvy and 35 bucks will get you parking at a Red Sox game.

It seems that when the McCain campaign said they “vetted” her, they meant they googled her name. Evidently, Google didn’t turn up her initial support for the Bridge To Nowhere, her chumminess with Ted Stevens, the inappropriate and illegal sacking of her ex brother-in-law and the person who refused to sack him, and her lack of experience or interest in all things not Alaskan.

There are more women in this country than men, and yet women have made it on to the ticket of each major party just once, both times in the supporting role. I still think picking a woman was a great idea, he just should have picked Condi Rice, Olympia Snowe, Christine Todd Whitman or Kay Bailey Hutchison. You know, someone qualified. Or Liddy Dole, if he needed a pro-lifer.

I love the new Republican talking point that because Palin was the mayor of a small town, and America is made up of a lot of small towns, she is more than qualified for VP. I was vice president of my grade school, so maybe I could be VP in real life, too.

Did you have to balance a budget when you were VP in grade school?

We did have a budget to balance, and we always had a surplus because we never bought enough equipment. So everyone was pretty surprised when I ended up registering with the Democratic Party.

I actually like Barack. Politically, I’m more keen on the Northeast guys like Franken and Feingold, but I’m not sure if they’d make great presidents.

I saw this cool little clip that had an RNCer saying that Palin’s pick shows that, you know, like, anyone can be President. (Did I, like, mention the person was a, you know, like, woman? That’s irrelevant!) Another dude said Palin is qualified because she had raised all them other kids.

In actual fact, all true, it’s up to the voters. And this is America where Freedom reigns, for the most part, as of yet, and we get to choose whomever we want, see W.

And I’d be willing to wager that anyone with an IQ 15 points higher than W’s would do a much better job than he has. But then again, I hold the government responsible, all of it, and the US government is pretty lame right now.

The only distinguishing difference I can really see, by observing actions, between the Dems and Reps is nominal, one group is a bunch of pussy whiners evidently enamored with the concept of government providing endless opportunity to the downtrodden, the other a bunch of vindictive consistently deluded pricks enamored with the concept that government is a feeding trough for the privileged, but ultimately the government resulting of either party is virtually indistinguishable.

We get what we deserve if we sit on our asses and opt out of our democracy.

    Chili for President!
